Our Legacy
Introduction
Located just moments from Finikoudes Beach, EPOS BY THE SEA offers more than modern accommodation in Larnaca. It is a place shaped by history, generosity, and a legacy that continues to make a difference.
A Woman Behind the Legacy
The building that hosts EPOS was once the mansion of Evantia Pieridou, one of the most important benefactors in the history of Larnaca.
Born in 1867, she was a remarkable woman of vision and strength at a time when women rarely held influence. Through her intelligence and determination, she managed a significant fortune, dedicating her life to supporting those in need. Her philanthropic work extended to poor families, students, and the wider community, without discrimination.
Her impact was so profound that even the renowned poet Dimitris Lipertis honored her generosity, describing her as a source of comfort, nourishment, and joy for those in hardship.
A House That Gives Back
This historic mansion, built in the mid-19th century in the heart of Larnaca, was preserved through her explicit wishes. In her will, Evantia Pieridou ensured that the building would never be demolished.
Instead, its purpose would continue: to generate income that supports the maintenance of the property and contributes to the care of patients in Larnaca’s hospital.
To this day, the building continues to give back, contributing significantly to medical equipment, patient care, and community support. Even decades after her passing in 1934, her legacy remains active and meaningful.
From Historic Mansion to Modern Stay
Today, this carefully restored building offers modern rooms in Larnaca near Finikoudes Beach, blending contemporary comfort with historical character.
The transformation was done with respect to its identity, preserving the architectural essence while creating a unique stay in Larnaca city center. Guests are not simply staying in a room, but in a space shaped by history and purpose.
What makes this place truly unique is that its story is still unfolding. Every stay contributes, in its own way, to a legacy of giving that began over a century ago.
This is not just Larnaca accommodation.
It is part of something greater.
